Yellow in Aberdeenshire!

Happy Easter everyone! Yellow is the word of the day in Sandend (between Cullen and Portsoy) where I’m staying with my friend Bob for a few days. The house is surrounded by rapeseed, which is grown in abundance in Scotland and cultivated for its oil rich seed. (It is close to canola but has some differences genetically.) Of all my time in Scotland this is my first April so I’ve not experienced this overpowering yellow display until now. It really is something!

Bob and I are soon off to pester his sister and brother in law in Fordyce, a gorgeous little village with a great medieval graveyard and castle. Prepare thy fortifications, Stephen and Theresa, double trouble in incoming 😁
