The Border Reader is a small secondhand bookshop set in a tranquil and picturesque spot between the Eildon Hills and the River Tweed, about two miles from Melrose in the Scottish Borders. Also within the old dairy farmhouse you will find a farm shop, a cafe serving light lunches, home baked cakes and a wide variety of teas and coffees, as well as furniture, antiques and local arts and crafts showrooms.

Mainstreet Trading Company

Based in the Scottish Borders village of St Boswells, The Mainstreet Trading Company is a destination in itself. Husband and wife team, Rosamund and Bill de la Hey, renovated the former auction house in 2008 to create a light and airy space filled with books and the smell of coffee. In 2012, they went on to create Mainstreet Deli & Home in a beautiful barn behind the main shop.
